Proposal: April 23, 2009
Dan proposed to me on April 23, 2009. It was the day before his birthday and the spring weather in Oak Park was beautiful. We decided to walk to a Mexican restaurant, not far from Dan's condo, for their Thursday night, $4 Margarita special. Dan suggested we walk through Scoville Park on the way, since the weather was so nice. In the middle of the park, amid the daffodils, Dan asked me, "Do you know what the best birthday present would be?" I turned to Dan and saw that he was on one knee! He said, "Waking up and knowing that you are my fiancee. Will you marry me?" I exclaimed, "Yes!
Of course!" but was shocked since Dan had tricked me about when he would have the actual ring! I quickly forgave him for "lying" about the ring pick-up :) and we went on to Fuego Loco to celebrate with some margaritas!

I helped design it... 1.3 carat center marquis cut diamond, flanked on either side by black diamonds and petite prong setting with diamonds on the band. It was always my dream to have black diamonds on my engagement ring!
